Fair enthusiasts like you make up our awesome volunteer force.

We would gratefully appreciate your help in providing any time you can spare. To help make this years non-profit fair a wonderful event for the entire community!

Race Day Overflow Parking

Duties:

  • Taking money for parking at the gate

  • Hand out the parking tickets (doing this in a fast and efficient way)

  • Directing cars where to park

  • Make sure to keep fire lanes open

  • Avoid blocking cars and campers in.

Hours

  • Race days from 4:30-7 pm (subject to change based on race traffic)

Facebook Promoter

Duties:

  • Promote the WOE on the WOE Facebook page and other local pages

  • Make posts before the fair and during the fair Letting people know of the upcoming events and activities happening at the fairgrounds

  • Communicate with office staff to keep up with what is going on at the fairgrounds

Painting at the Fairgrounds

Duties:

  • Touching up paint

  • Completely repainting as needed

  • Making signs for the fairgrounds

  • new games for the fair

Building and repairs

Duties:

  • Build games for the kid zone

  • Build Signs for around the fairgrounds

  • Help with repairs to buildings on the fairgrounds

Gardening

Duties:

  • Planting flowers around the fairgrounds

  • Weeding the garden beds around the property

Judges

Duties:

  • Impartial Judging for all categories of entries into the fair.  

  • Use the scoring system in place for each division for judging.

Flowers and Forest Superintendent 

Duties:

  • Superintendent will help find judges for their division as needed.

  • Be on site Wed Aug 19th and Thur. Aug 20th to accept entries into the fair.

  • Help other Supers if needed.

  • Organize your division space before the fair opens.

  • Be available all 3 days of the fair to answer questions about your division.

  • Must be there at the end of the fair Sunday Aug 23rd for entry pick-up

  • Aide in building 1 cleanup after the fair.

  • Do paperwork to let the newspapers know who the winners are for your division. 

  • Communicating with our superintendent of superintendents Carolin Pettit.

  • Flowers and forestry- this includes potted indoor plants, potted outdoor plants, cut flowers, annuals, biennials/perennials, bulbous, roses, collections, theme arrangements, pressed flowers and herbarium. Forestry- includes conifers, broad-leaf trees and shrubs and collections

Kid Games Supervisor and assistant

Duties:

  • Be available for each of the days games

Entertainment Liaison 

Duties:

  • Greet entertainer at the gate

  • Walk them to the stage that they will be setting up on.

  • Help them in any way that you can

  • Must be able to drive a golf cart (over 18 with a valid license)

Volunteer Photographer

Duties:

  • Need to have Internet connection to be able to post some pictures to Facebook

  • come all three days of the fair, be able to take a pic of all the events taking place.

  • Reporting to our office manager (Skye Hefner)

  • Can use this for your portfolio

  • Walk  around the grounds and pick up garbage as it needs to be picked up

Parking Lot Attendant

Duties:

  • Be able to have people to park in the right spot in a row, so other cars don't block the other cars.

  • Ask people to move if necessary

  • Keep track of where people are parking and pulling out so that new fair-goers can be pointed to a parking spot
